Dr. Peter Phillips, Jamaica's Minister of Finance, leaves the island this Friday for China to participate in a series of high-level meetings.
He will hold talks with authorities in the Chinese government and other officials including the Governor of the Chinese Central Bank.
The delegation will also meet with officials from some of China’s major private financial institutions and firms involved in overseas investments.
According to the Jamaican Government, the objective of the visit is to further deepen the trade, financial and investment relationship between Jamaica and China, and discuss ways in which China can assist in Jamaica’s efforts to address its debt service challenges.

The team will return to the island on Sunday, December 22, the Ministry said.
