Nelson Mandela: From 'terrorist' to tea with the Queen

Nelson Mandela: Once vilified by the Government, he will be acclaimed as a hero this week

'The ANC is a typical terrorist organisation ... Anyone who thinks it is going to run the government in South Africa is living in cloud-cuckoo land' - Margaret Thatcher, 1987

'How much longer will the Prime Minister allow herself to be kicked in the face by this black terrorist?' - Terry Dicks MP, mid-1980s

'Nelson Mandela should be shot' - Teddy Taylor MP, mid-1980s

Israel supported Apartheid. I read a book years ago about the connection with the racists in SA with the Israelis, by an Israeli professor who did extensive research on the cooperation between both countries. It was indeed the Israelis who gave nuclear technology to the racists, and they had developed "small scale" WMD to use in the townships in a doomsday scenario. They Israelis considered the ANC just as dangerous as the PLO, and worked jointly with the racists on strategies to fight them.

    Here's the Palestinian perspective

Felt strange watching BBC last night know that the government was supporting the apartheid regime back in the day. But to be fair, I think, many ordinary Britons did not support their govt on this. Some of the largest anti-apartheid protests and concerts took place in Britain.

Of course, the US did its part in propping up the racist regimes of South Africa.

His position on Cuba & Libya are in direct contradiction to those of Mandela's...hypocritical to say the least...let's not even start with Israel

another flawed reasoning. Both Mandela and Obama could have the same or even share the same views on Apartheid within S.Africa but differ in areas of Geo politics. Yes? It's high time you stop with these poor reasoning. Example: Haiti invaded DR a hundred years ago therefore any violent actions against Haitians today by Drs is justified. This is called fallacy of genetics. Please stop, thanks.

See I'm even letting you go on Skype (too shameful) .

Oh i see...how can you share the same view on apartheid in South Africa and not apartheid in the Middle East...how convenient...if you want to quote my position on a subject at least get it right...I have not condoned any violent actions against anyone...I have condoned DR's right to set their immigration policy

OK I get you. Good points. Nothing to argue with there. Obama would probably tell you he is constrained by American realities as to how far he can go. I wouldnt buy it but that's what he would probably say.

You are doing it again. You cannot speak in loose terms. First question that will be asked is this: Is the situation in the Middle East based on race? Listen continue with your flawed reasoning.

ok its based on religion/ethnicity ... that makes it .. BETTER?

Seriously I am busy and have little time. Are you saying the conflict in the Balk Lands was based on Apartheid? Okay you are right I'm wrong.

So based on No.2 (seeing that you have no interest in no.1), it's safe to say Ja and the DR are practicing a system of Apartheid (throw in Cuba too).

It's okay, you are right and I'm wrong. BTW if you are interested I have something better for you. Say aye and I will post it.
