True. It will be a difficult road for him if he decides run for President. I think he will give it a try though.

If I had the power I would bulldoze them and use the money spent there to fund the children to attend other schools, preferably charter schools where there is some accountability and record of performance.

Nuff schools in JA need to be bulldozed too.
Strange, the man that actually presented actual issues in the school system not making no sense? Oh yes, that's how Jamaicans are, when one don't buy into the flat earth argument we nuh have no sense. Fortunately for you, Sass and the other Christie cheering section, unuh can cheer him on from a far, unuh nuh affi worry about his obnoxious (Thanks to me teachers) attitude.

Maybe the problem is not as simple as more money?
        You are bang on.
The problem is always quality delivery of service - physical environment but more so 'quality teaching'. Throwing money at Education without great (first rate) human input never works. ...but great (first rate) teaching and support groups - family, the environment meaning human support input - even in the face of inadequate funding can give 'fantabulous' results.

Islandman: Your Dad showed what can be done at Morant Bay...and later Mannings. The quality of delivery of services was the key!!!! Of course led by a most competent hand.

Yes I agree, the management of the school operations makes a big difference, as well as the inclusion of the school community.

BTW I was at a science/technology conference in Cayman last month, met a Mannings alumni from around your time named Allan Young who is Dean of Academic Affairs at the community college there. You know him?

He really liked the presentation I was helping out with about using robotics to promote science and technology education and was encouraging me to approach Mannings, as you were earlier. I had put that on hold for a while due to workload but I plan to take it on again in the next few months.

You are correct, sir. I missed the post.
            Sorry!

            Cannot place Mr. Allan Young.

Did he state what year he was at Mannings?
...and any things of interest he was involved with or in in those years?
Perhaps, if he was there during my time, something mentioned could jog my memory????

Happy to see you are now ready to take your skills to Mannings. You shall encounter a great reception.

Any problems or hitches please let me know and I shall be happy to try to 'smooth' same.

He said late 60s/early 70s, so he may have been some years behind you. Knew my father well too. Not sure if he was involved in any sports though.

He seems to be in touch with the Mannings alumni groups as well, gave me some of the same contacts you did earlier.

I will be on it very early in the new year. Will let you know if I need any assistance.

                Thanks!

                  Oooh!
                  I left Mannings in 1962.

...and good luck with the project.

                  Respek!
