PNP delegation to visit China
12:31 pm, Tue October 22, 2013
Five members of Jamaica's governing Peoples' National Party (PNP), including Robert Pickersgill, PNP Chairman and head of delegation, left the island on Monday for China.
The five-member PNP team will join similar delegations from two other Caribbean countries for meetings co-ordinated by the Communist Party of China.
Areas to be covered include, Rural Development, Women in Development, Agriculture, Tourism and Communications.
Organisers are hoping that one of the key outcomes will be the deepening of inter-party relationships between the PNP and the Chinese Communist Party as well as exploring developmental opportunities between China and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
The delegation will leave China on October 31.
