Academic excellence the norm at Morant Bay High

The 22 Morant Bay High School fourth form students who took mathematics at the most recent sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams have created history at the St Thomas institution - twenty one of them gained grade one, with the other receiving two.

As a result, the school has since introduced add math to the now fifth formers, a practice which will become a regular feature at the institution.

And if that's not enough good news, the school is also celebrating another achievement as 183 of the approximately 205 students who sat the CSEC exams gained five or more subjects, with some passing as many as 12 in one sitting.

Maybe Math is a fundamental that been around since before Robots..

Which begs the question... what is the future of a country where Math appears to be some kind of esoteric foreign language ?

The future would not be bright at all. How to fix that? Maybe it would help if more of them were introduced to some mathematical applications that made maths appear more useful? Then maybe a few of them would not see learning maths the same as learning Latin?

Imagine if them could get a presentation pon a application like, I don't know, maybe a pothole positioning system?

But them still haffe learn fe read, write and count first. Nuff work out deh fe do and the govt not doing it so....

Why the Govt not doing it ?

                  Singapore Govt did it..

Avg govt spend on Education in Africa is 20% of GDP...

Oh wait.. I forgot.. our Taxes are used to pay debt.. and is not even good debt.. Ponzi scheme debt..
