Serious set of problems...

...but was that a balanced picture?

The school administrators?
Wonder what is being achieved?

What message is sent on quality of the school's managers?
What can we conclude (assume) on/about quality of teaching offered?
Where does this school fall on Jamaica's ranking chart of comparable - student population & category (our High Schools) - schools?

It is in my neck of the woods. ...as we would say back in the days, "just down the road" (approximately 7 miles from 'my country'/village of Cold Spring).

I watched the entire video.

Overall, I was very impressed.

The Kids covered all the basic problems of Jamaican society. They also cited the basic remidies.

Hopewell HS is just one case-study that reflects the overall problems of the Jamaican society.

Solve these problems...and the Island will be well on it's way to prosperity.

(Oh, I bet the girls in the Muslim head gear is from a stable family. I am sure Dad is at home and is a good provider).

Like you I am impressed by the kids expression of awareness...the clarity with which they expressed selves...and the almost 100% of the speakers exhibition of fullest of self-assurance and confidence.

It is obvious that the education environment is on a good path as far as development of the psyche - the soul, mind...personality of the kids is concerned. The school gets a "big-up" for the part it has been playing there.

...now it would be good to get greater depth info on each of the areas on which the school provides assistance to the kids development - academic performances, sports arena, social responsibilities...etc., etc? ..whereon a fuller view of 'quality' education could be gained.

Other conclusions on "the school" can be drawn as observation of the mode of dress and manner of neatness of clothing...response to instructions by the presenters...movement of the kids...posture...etc., etc... speech patterns...etc.

The forum and the kids responses made impressive showing.
