Ja manufacturing base is weak and fragile; hence it cannot penetrate foreign markets and compete. Let's say GK plans to to be more aggressive in the US and opens some restaurant called GK restaurant or eatery with their products (this would be much better than openly competing on the advertising front) the competition could easily disrupt GK's supply line. Now Ja growers are not loyal to no one there is no strong support to farmers. So guess what? The competition comes in buys up products at higher price and either stores it or dumps it. This forces GK to raise its price and guess what over time?
Hannibal kicked off the first Punic war, when he crossed the Alps and came down to Italy. Yes he gave the Romans hell but guess what? He needed reinforcements and for it to come quickly, it had to come by water. The Romans used their navy to Blockade the Gibraltar and any other key points at sea. Africanus eventually defeated Hannibal. Moral of the story logistic and supply is very important in battle. Hence Ja's manufacturing is cornered and stuck in a small niche.
At present Ja's huge problem is the inability to export anything substantial to offset the trade balance. Tell me what will happen when the tourism industry comes under direct competition?
