  • My two cents or thru-pence for that matter

I happened to be in Jamaica a couple of years ago when the Manatt hearings were underway. I happened to see, on live television, the Attorney General, Dorothy Lightbourne, and Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, being cross-examined. Bruce was defiant, angry and smart mouthed. It did not play well at all to the public. Dorothy, under cross-examination, had a twitching mouth and often seemed incoherent. She seemed on the verge of having a stroke and she seemed to lack the sophistication and intellect becoming of an attorney general. It wwas obvious she should not have held that office.

Now we hear that the current Prime Minister could be cross-examined on a witness stand re Trafigura. She has dodged many questions, during her tenure, regarding very important and damning matters. When she does speak it is often long after questions have been posed to her. Her remarks are usually scripted, carefully read, as though she is struggling with reading, and allow for now follow up questioning. If she were to actually make it to a witness stand for cross examination, I sense that I would witness a combination of Dorothy's extreme discomfort and Bruce's defiance. For reasonable people, she could be exposed once and for all as not the kind of person that should be leading our country, which has a lot of complex challenges. But I suspect that a lot of people may actually be sympathetic to her even though she may be just as undeserving of sympathy as Dorothy was.

Yuh in denial ? ..exposed once and for all as not the kind of person to lead the country !...she has been exposed more than once and will continue to be , the sad truth is the opposition lost to her and seems to be on the path to loose again, so the bigger question is ,if she isnt the type of person that should be leading the nation , what does it say about the opposition ?Think hard !
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Maybe it is an invidious comparison, which has everything to do with deserving.
It is true thay the Dudus matter came from an extradition request but other than the surveillance plane that was provided, the US involvement was minimal at best. Our head of state will have to answer the questions of lawyers representing another state, for the sole purpose of gathering evidence of misconduct by a business from there.
