<The Constitutional Court yesterday dismissed an application challenging an order for Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and other People's National Party (PNP) members to answer questions under oath in court, in the Trafigura case.

The court handed down its ruling almost one year after hearing final submissions on October 1 last year.

The application was brought by the PNP.

Dutch authorities want to question Simpson Miller, PNP Chairman Robert Pickersgill, and senior members Colin Campbell and Phillip Paulwell, and businessman Norton Hinds about a $31-million donation to the party by Dutch company Trafigura Beheer.

It is illegal for Dutch companies to donate to political parties.

At the time of the donation in 2006, Trafigura had an oil-lifting contract with the PNP administration which formed the Government.

In its ruling, the court concluded that the claimants had failed to prove by cogent and credible evidence that, as a matter of law, they are entitled to the relief they were seeking.>

LOL... you think I care whether or not they testify in court or dem get shame??? Not my concern.. I have no pony in that race. In fact I think that would be an excellent example of political accountability

My point about this issue was it's potential political impact in Jamaica.. It's an issue which was embarrassing for the Termites at the time...then quickly forgotten by the electorate

I also said at the time that if Trafigura was a US firm... my storm forecast would be totally different

One can't compare Trafigura for example to the Category 10 Hurricane and subsequent Tsunami which swept Driva from office into shame & obscurity

What was the quantities of narcotics him moved.. and what was the extent of his 'terrorism'... they did not qualify it in Jamaican terms.. nice try though..
