"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Well agreed to the point of litigation...Jamaica could contest that on the premise of abandonment(lol) ....to me its a litigation issue that serves no ones interest to go to war , what it should do is get all parties involved and come to an amicable solution , source fininacing from the states , as well as the world over ..make it happen.

Its a real estate lawyer issue , involving treaties.

The consideration paid to England was some old ships...this is what i posted b4 on abandonment...am open to correction

          Don1
It was de facto abandoned by the lack of enforcement of any tenant rights.for many decades

Whether it was also abandoned de jure is anedda question

Hhhmph, we need to be on a plane to Washington with Butch & Lee Chin rounding up US investors for financing.

                    1st thing is

1)The US is going to want to extend the lease..we could give them 25 more years on it.

                    2) Our Interest should be ecology

3)Economy -with U.S EOC or Jamaican anti discrimination laws in place laws in place to further the Jamaican educational ,worker and housing interests .
