<Daley said $13 million is to be spent restoring the bridge. Erected in 1801 at a cost of £4,000, the old cast-iron bridge is the oldest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. She also said $19 million is being spent for the restoration of the People's Museum and $23 million is to be spent on the Old King's House.
"The communities are now being sensitised on these developments, particularly since the plans will involve the removal of vehicular traffic through the old town square, catering only to pedestrians and tourists," Daley said.
The MP, who was making her contribution to the Sectorial Debate in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, said 10 tour guides are being trained to assist in showing tourists around.>
