MONTEGO BAY, St James - Two men wanted by the St James police for robbery and shooting were among 109 men detained yesterday morning during a raid at a popular Montego Bay party dubbed 'Crazy Monday'.
Eighty of the detainees were released by late afternoon.
The police have, however, withheld the names of the two, who are scheduled to face an identification parade for crimes allegedly committed in the parish.
The police said 177 packages of ganja, 21 knives and three machetes were seized during the raid at the party held at premises located at 30 Barnett Street in the city.
According to Corporal Peter Salkey, the police's information officer for St James, yesterday's operation, led by St James divisional commander, Superintendent Steve McGregor and second-in-command, Deputy Superintendent Ralsford Hardy, lasted for almost three hours and was in pursuit of wanted men which intelligence suggested were at the entertainment spot.
