Outstanding Jamaican public servant Dr Joyce Robinson has died.
Robinson died yesterday at the University Hospital of the West Indies at the age of 87.
She had been ailing for some time.
Robinson served in numerous capacities in public life including head of the Jamaica Library Service, the HEART Trust/NTA, and JAMAL (now the Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning).

Robinson who was born in St. James on July 2, 1925 also served as the general manager of the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation in the early 1980s.
She is survived by her two children Dr Ann Bridgewater, a medical practitioner and Anthony Robinson, a computer specialist.
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) says it is saddened by the passing of Robinson.
The JTA says Robinson was an outstanding public servant and was among a group of Jamaican women who gave service to country above self.
