Outstanding Jamaican public servant Dr Joyce Robinson has died.

Robinson died yesterday at the University Hospital of the West Indies at the age of 87.

So sad to see the stalwarts of old checking out.

We are the poorer for it.

        True leader!
For all of us the time to check out is sure...but it is always a teary-eyed occasion. Walk good, Dr. Robinson.

Yep, you are correct in that we are indeed “the poorer for it”! The true nation builders are departing this life one by one, and sadly their young replacements have not yet made themselves obvious.

But within the last decade we have lost true stalwarts like Louise Bennett-Coverly, Trevor Rhone, Rex Nettleford, Byron Lee, Sonny Bradshaw, Dr. Aggrey Brown, Olive Lewin, and quite a number of others.

So true.. so many have passed. Gives one more drive to contribute to building something positive amidst all the JA negativity...
