Yuh want more arguement...btw where did you cite that from , i would love to see your source."Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)

DPP wanted 'Dudus' out
Tuesday, May 14, 2013

DIRECTOR of Public Prosecution (DPP) Paul Llewellyn was more interested in the extradition of former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke than bringing charges against him locally.
Llewellyn's preference was communicated via e-mail from Isiah Parnell, the chargé d'affaires at the US Embassy in Kingston to US Department of State officials in 2010.
The mail was sent on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 9:30 am, the day following Coke's apprehension by police on Mandela Highway after a full month on the run, according to documents recently unclassified by the State Department and sent to New Yorker magazine writer Mattathias Schwartz.
"Just spoke to DPP Paul Llewellyn," said Parnell in the e-mail with the subject line 'Coke update'. "She confirmed that first preliminary [meeting] between her office and Coke attorneys is scheduled for 09:00 this morning. [Drug Enforcement Agency] and [US Marshals] are also invited to attend."
Added the e-mail: "She expects Coke's lawyers to waive right to fight extradition proceedings. Police Commissioner (Owen) Ellington reportedly stated that there may be local charges filed against Coke which might affect extradition. DPP said that any local charges against Coke must be filed through her office and that at this time she is not inclined to pursue them but preferred extradition."
Reached by the Jamaica Observer for comment, Llewellyn said: "I would prefer to make no comment on the matter whatsoever."
Coke waived his right to an extradition hearing and was flown to the US on June 24, 2010. He is serving a 23-year sentence in a federal prison after pleading guilty to racketeering. He was originally wanted in the US on drug- and gun-running charges.
Coke fled Tivoli Gardens after police and soldiers entered the community in May 2010 to arrest him but faced fierce resistance from gunmen determined to prevent his arrest. The security forces eventually took control of the community and returned the capital city to normality.
More than 70 people, including a Jamaica Defence Force soldier, were killed in the confrontation.

It is not a stretch to conclude that both parties - JLP & PNP - have their own set of reasons for wanting a 'still-birth'."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
