All the persons who were taken into custody on Tuesday as part of the police probe into the theft of several Rolex watches from Swiss Stores in downtown Kingston have now been released.
A politician and another man were released Wednesday after being questioned by Fraud Squad detectives. A third man was released on Tuesday. They were detained in connection with the April 11 heist of 16 watches from the Church Street-based jewellery store.
Following what was a near eight-hour operation, which took detectives to at least three St. Thomas communities, the politician and the two men were rounded up, and taken to Flying Squad headquarters in Kingston. Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) activist, Kayon 'Treasure' Campbell; businessman Donald Ho, and Norman Robertson of Spanish Town, St Catherine, were recently charged in connection with the robbery.
