  • So they nabbed the 2nd "bomber"

The security forces let me down and left many questions to be answered. After searching for this injured 19 year old for over 12 - 14 hours, they were able to find him ONLY after one faas woman noticed blood on the tarpaulin of her boat. First question is after that big fire-fight last night, he was able to escape the dragnet of thousands of security forces, on foot (as the news media was reporting), and in such a relatively small town. Since he was able to escape the dragnet, one of the most logical thing the police should have done would be to bring in snuffer dogs to track his scent. They knee he was injured because they found blood in the car that they hijacked. Ok, when they zeroed in on the boat, there was a barrage of gunfire that went on for several minutes. How did he survive that? What happened to the robber of the Seven Eleven since they, the bombers were just there at the wrong time?

You watch too many Lassie films Jangle.

I am sure if that was an option they would have taken it.

Maybe you should apply for a job at Boston Yard

Lol. So what are you saying, that Jangle doesn't know more about these types of operations than the FBI?

After him & his bredda assinate the cop at MIT, he also shot another transit cop nearby and both of dem fled to Watertown, while a bunch of cops were in hot pursuit. The dragnet of cops from all over start to assemble after his brother was shot, and he managed to escape again and hid in the boat. I agree dem cops should have done a better job, and they never checked out the boat in the backyard.

There was an onslaught of gunfire by the police when he was in the boat. Was the police firing in the air? Logically, he should not have survived that onslaught. One news report said he suffered one gunshot wound. Obviously his injury/injuries from the first shootout wasn't life threatening since he was able to get away and evade capture for almost 24 hours. Something not right.

I was thinking that too. That volley of gun shots "aimed" at the boat and the boy was not riddled with bullets-- does not make sense.

They were shooting up in the air Jangle!!!

Only Jamaican police are guilty of that, those cops did not 'eye the target' hence it was more indiscriminate firing.
It is good he was apprehended and not killed, it is a good thing regarding intel.

Authorities said a helicopter equipped with a thermal imager spotted the heat signature of a person inside a tarp-covered boat, sitting in a backyard in Watertown, Mass. Police used the sensor after an area resident reported seeing a trail of blood leading to the boat -- and catching a glimpse of a blood-covered body inside. The thermal readings confirmed that there was indeed someone under the tarp, and that the person was still alive.
"Our helicopter had actually detected the subject in the boat," Col. Timothy Alben of the Massachusetts State Police told reporters. "We have what's called a FLIR -- a forward-looking infrared device -- on that helicopter. It picked up the heat signature of the individual, even though he was underneath what appeared to be the 'shrink wrap' or cover on the boat itself. There was movement from that point on. The helicopter was able to direct the tactical teams over to that area."
One sniper could have easily taken him out.

A strategically placed one yes but responding officers may not even be in communication with their fellow officers aboard the helicopter.
Swat should be handling it from the discovery was made.

A 2003 study by the Police Policy Studies Council reports that shots fired by police officers that hit the intended perpetrator range from as low as 25 percent to approximately 50 percent. The study cites Baltimore County Police as being one of the "best trained police departments" with regards to firearm use. It reports that this best trained Baltimore County Police Department's overall gunshots fired-to-hit ratio was 49 percent. In daylight conditions, the ratio was 64 percent and that dropped to 45 percent in low light conditions. The average is about 33% for cops in America and you have to realize this occurs during a stressful situation.

Those stats may apply if there are few cops firing but with the hundreds, maybe even over a thousand cops shooting at a motionless target just doesn't make sense.

The police scanner mentioned rubber bullets but I read a report that the boat was damaged. I don't really know what type of bullets.

But they were trying to take him alive. Maybe those shots were just to tell him, look, we have the fire power, so chill!

Rubber bullets, no way! He and his brother killed a cop earlier, and wounded another. Cops did not use rubber bullets...I realize people have issue with the accuracy of cops shooting at the suspect, and all of the cops on the scene were not all shooting at him at the same time.
