Unlike Manley who had the excuse of destabalisation , Seaga had none in the 80s he operated in peace , and had nothing to show for it but a ballon in debt , aid stopped and booted out of office.

I say it every day the difference in the economies of the 70s and 80s was destabilisation and Seaga was no better. The stats dont lie.In other words the illusion of peace and massive debt , dollar devaluation in the 80s is seen by some as 8 % growth...lol

Claffy....again nuh dis same bredda borrow half a million and figet bout it ?

My point was about debt...perhaps you missed that

It's clear that Seaga started JA on the path to massive debt accumulation...at one point the Debt/GDP ratio was around 200%

I think I understand your problem.. it has been so long that the country has had growth over 3% that the concept does not even register in you brain

Ah notice yuh conveniently avoiding everything after 1989... what excuse do you have from what happened after 1989 when Manley took over and the PNP had peace and Global prosperity ?

Why so defensive about the 70's by the way ? Even Manley admitted his errors.. yuh still ah contort yuhself..

I like this though.. you finally showing your true colors.. mi nuh know WHO yuh was ah try fool comrade..

Avoiding ? Boss I clearly stated give the PNP all the blame ,to blunt your predicatble percieved ingrained bias.

Deal with it BOSS , CIA , i.e conservative think tank in 86 , Reagan boys said Seaga so called financial wizardy the 8% was a disaster !Seaga was viewed as a nuisance , a beggar with no real plan but to borrow.Nothing has changed since from either government. They were right , history will record he was voted out 3 years later. That should put Manleys governance of self relinace/destabalisation in perspective, granted like you said he made some mistakes and he admits it , he should not have been so dismissive of the west , but carried on quietly and on more friendly terms with the west cc Lula Brazil.

What the PNP/JLP did in the 90s to present is just an acceleration of the disaster.

Remember the good old days of disastrous policies Claffy ?

<In 1992, our total exports of goods and services exceeded total imports. By 2008, as imports replaced domestic goods production in keeping with the policy to de-emphasise manufacturing, exports of goods and services were barely enough to pay for 60 per cent of our total goods and services imports.>

This is the path that Seaga started JA on:

<In 1992, our total exports of goods and services exceeded total imports. By 2008, as imports replaced domestic goods production in keeping with the policy to de-emphasise manufacturing, exports of goods and services were barely enough to pay for 60 per cent of our total goods and services imports.>

Talk about momentum from Seaga 80's policies.. all 2 years into the 90's..

                            Then BRAPS !!

                            "Black Man Time"...

Claffy.. the policies that were working to produce exports exceeding imports were the ones established in the 80's by Seaga...

                                Then came "Black Man Time"..

Now stop being obtuse... even your simple mind should be able to follow along here..
