Quit whining, Garry and LIME

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I heard some news reports that Garfield Sinclair, managing director of LIME, formerly Cable & Wireless, is quarreling about rates, and that he believes that the "dominant provider" should be controlled by the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR).
I find it so strange that the company that ruled the roost in Jamaica for so many years is referring to another company as the "dominant provider". If LIME had treated its customers the right way, a newcomer would not have entered the market and passed them so quickly.
While there is an important role for the OUR to play, let all providers understand that consumers now have options. For the past 12 years, we have been able to make a choice and not be held under the stranglehold of a company that used to charge us for receiving cell phone calls.
