He was just a scatterbrain over his head. I would go so far as to style him like you did, plus he did do some good for the poorer classes.

The real problem in Venezuela is that they were a backwater state that found sudden wealth and have little real patriotism among the populace. Dem Miami-minded.

        Little patriotism in that country.

Its the Saudi of Latin America. Backwater bedouins that struck it rich and were unprepared like the Beverley Hills Hillbillies.

Willi, your view of Yard is an informed one,you did not look over a few data that was available about Jamaica in two weeks and arrived at a conclusion based on that.Yours isn't one of ignorance.
What do we REALLY know about Jamaica? If you are whit..,if you are brown...,if you are....
Even in that sentence we were literally placed last.
          Nah, I remain weary.

So any farriner come ah yard need more than 1 hour to figger out seh is a majority black population?

Di man made perfect sense. If even the racial majority important segment (professionals) nah get wid di program, it means it likely aggo fail. I can put it no simpler dan dat. Oh, and it did fail, spectacularly.

Betchu if it was the Daddy in the same position, we woulda get bet better results. Leadership skills are both intrinsic/native and developed. Charisma is purely native.

Look at the point being made and dont try to project suspicions on it.

I think you are more than able to come up with something better than that. Chavez was no god and he did mix it up a bit BUT what he did for his people was a phenomenal good...I wish we had someone like that in Ja..oil wealth helps though...
To call Venezuela a backwater state is ridiculous...they are also the 4th largest exporter of gas of the US which takes 40% of their production...
I've been to Caracas (years ago) and sat on the platform of the statue of Simon Bolivar...in about 10 seconds a guard asked me kindly to get up...
No need to disrespect a whole country because you don't like the leader...

In 2006, Lee was presented with the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

In October 2009, Lee was conferred the first Lifetime Achievement award by the U.S.-Asean Business Council at its 25th anniversary gala dinner in Washington, D.C.. In his tribute, former United States Secretary of State and 1973 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Henry Kissinger said:[56]
"He has become a seminal figure for all of us. I've not learned as much from anybody as I have from Mr Lee Kuan Yew. He made himself an indispensable friend of the United States, not primarily by the power he represented but by the quality of his thinking.

Meeting the U.S. President at the White House Oval Office a day later, Barack Obama introduced him as:[57][58]
"... one of the legendary figures of Asia in the 20th and 21st centuries. He is somebody who helped to trigger the Asian economic miracle."

On 15 November 2009, Lee was awarded the Russian Order of Friendship by President Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of APEC Singapore 2009.[59]

On 19 October 2011, Lee received the Lincoln Medal in Washington DC — an honor reserved for people who have exemplified the legacy and character embodied by Abraham Lincoln.[62]

On 21 February 2012, Lee was conferred the Kazakhstan Order of Friendship by Ambassador Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, at the Istana.[63]

I said WAS...READ man! I am talking history of the Spanish Viceroyalties.
Venezuela was a backwater in the Columbian viceroyalty.

Bolivia which is at back now used to be near the top.

I have tons of Latino friends and got the real juice years ago in Spain.

And who said I didnt LIKE Chavez.

Ah REALITY mi a deal with...feeling nuh play no part here.

I can separate the 2. In the past I argued vigourously with Venezuelan colleagues who could see no good in Chavez at all.
