The IMF deal stop any economic plan????? You keep on talking but what are your plans you talking about???? All now you can't tell me.

The fact is stalling leads to instability and that is what happen.

Simple, Jam is clearly at a crossroads and as the Bar sign says CREDIT DEAD. So a downward spiral would mean there is nothing to inherit.
      OooooooooooooKaaaaaaaay!

Current situation: Sliding NIR and FX rate.

General apathy, fear of the near term and long term.

      Opulent politicians

      overtaxed public.

      Comparatively dried up remittances.

A real winter of discontent and the Spring looks set to be worse.

Too much taxes, so di new Papa Tax is PP.
=overtaxed public. . OoooooooooKaaaaaay ...say it a few more times to what purpose

      Raided NHT.
      OooooooooooKaaaaaaaaaay

      Gas gone up.
      OoooooooooKaaaaaaaaaay

Background: PNP hyped up expectations to win elections. Fair enuff, that is what Ticians do, BUT they kept the hype going for far too long after the polls victory (both general and local). Promises of balancing lives, of quick IMF deals, of good times with Jam 50 celebrations & Olys, of replacing wicked and uncaring admins, of red herrings like Republican status, reviewing buggary laws, openness and constant communication (Portia yet to do a proper press interview), nuff hyped up mouths to feed and with the UNNECESSARY super win in the local polls, FAR too many mouths open to feed.

Wrong/dumb moves: Promising early imf deal, defending business class travel and criss SUVs, overbloating the Cabinet and persisting with neophytes and non-performers, refusing to set example and lead from the front by symbolically making PERSONAL sacrifices to align motives and interest with the population...while begging the popn. to make even more sacrifices, nicodemus type tax impositions after fake consultation. There are a few more, but unno get the message...

Assets at their disposal: Surprisingly bouyant tourism, mega projects by the Chinese and US like the Dry Dock, Flemings airport expansion, Logistics hub (Vernamfield, Port of KGN, rail links, Spin off business, Free zone opportunities, etc), USD$700m garbage to energy project, Port expansion to capture Panama Canal opportunities, rare earth mineral exploitation, Oil and gas offshore possibilities, and untold opportunities we all have heard whispers of in private. I dont even talk about serious Agro prospects yet!
      [quote]

How in the name of all that is good, with these assets they have, they have managed to get themselves into this mess? It can only be considered to be deliberate, as random chance should put them in a better place than they are today. I cannot see the GOJ surviving 3 more years at this rate and I cannot see a good outcome for Jam if they fail. By June at this rate, I expect social unrest and crime to explode.

I cannot imagine that Portia does not care about her legacy and would want acollapse on her watch. I dont understand why she has not taken the lead from the front with correct symbology, not reached out to all members of the Jakan family in good faith and trust and ask that we all come together to not only weather the storm, but figger out how we get back on the slow, long path to prosperity. We can do it, we have the assets and Massa God has dropped Panama and rare earth geopolitics in our laps. All this will be for naught if we allow the country to collapse in the interim.

      Comments please!!!

You cannot imagine Portia...but you clearly do as your question suggests you have thought it may be a possibility...

Just tell us what it is you wish to 'proclaim'...please?

The fact is leave the bloody word fact alone ,you abuse it until its scared whenever you whisper its name!

You think the IMF loan is going to lead to some form of stability ? everyone says no ! what will lead to stability is an economic plan , didnt WILLI list them to you havent others listed them , export or die have you heard that some where before , didnt Butch say waiting for the IMF isnt a solution to our problemns, what did Clarke speak on.....what bloody stability will this flipping Loan IMF deal have without an economic plan like Butch & CO speak about , The ports , The Airdome , EXports or DIE (industry) , Minerals etc , dealing with corruption, do I need to present one ,when more learned men in the private sector has , are you lucid ?...you call an average of 1.5% growth in 30 years stability the worst in the carribbean and central america , only beaten by Haiti the highgest gdp in the region 140 %

Claffy speaks on the solution , JLP to the rescue...deluded fools in gordon house , lets get this straight the only plan these claffys had or have is an IMF deal , no economic vision has been presented by either party to grow ourselves to prosperity.

Its all about flipping loans and kicking it down the road, some joka want me to spell out a plan as if I have economic knowledge on a lien, others more learned have presented plans, where is the implementation....aaahh a seeit , the revolving circus of voting claffys into power who blame each other and the masses(ganja use) continues.

Purpose and implementation are two different things , that said when the negative side effects far out weigh the good , speak to South America its best to leave it alone.

Claude Clarke, Willi and Butch all say we should all have an IMF deal, some even went further.

None them actually put a plan forward which is fair. We all know growing our economy and exporting is the only way forward. The problem is how do we achieve that, and the current government is the only one who can answer that.

I am very certain you see I have put suggestion forward just like Butch and others have done. All that is fine but a plan is needed and leadership is needed. The IMF plan don't stop that as Butch says the IMF deal is not the cure to our problem, it only give us some stability to go forward but guest what your comrade friends would never take any prudent economic action if the IMF never said so, they would continue to preach bad economy policies such as high interest rate, wanton spending and corruption, oversize civil servants.

"I said it before that the IMF deal should have been the priority in the first 6 months. The PNP could then blame it all on the JLP if they wanted. After waiting for a year it was just too much."

That is a bold-face LIE, Assasin!

Not into any discussion over this.
