IF DR. Phillip Phinn's prophetic declaration backed by hundreds of hands waving and voices shouting amen are to be taken as gospel, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller may very well be on her way to winning the impending general election.
Dr. Phinn, a prophet from the Word of Life Ministries International, on Sunday night repeated an earlier claim that God had ordained Mrs. Simpson Miller to rule for at least another seven years.
"There is literally no turning back of this clock at this time," Dr. Phinn told his congregation.
The Prime Minister, who was in the midst as Dr. Phinn made his pronouncement at an annual prophetic conference held at the Hilton Kingston hotel, also had messages of her own.
Speaking under the theme 'Breakthrough Now', Mrs. Simpson Miller hinted that the general election, due by October, may not be too far away.
"I am praying for a breakthrough for Jamaica this year," Mrs. Simpson Miller said.
"I know that sometime this year, I am sure, and I am not a prophetess, and I will never claim to be, but I am sure that we are aboutto hear some good news that will lead to the prosperity of this nation," Mrs. Simpson Miller said.
While her pronouncements may not necessarily be political, Mrs. Simpson Miler's presentation to the Christians was based on her prime ministerial vision for Jamaica.
Defended beautification programme
Not only did she speak of the need for families to play a lead role in moulding young minds, but she defended her decision to institute a $635 million beautification programme, and her order to have pastors on government boards.
In the defence of the latter, the Prime Minister used the popular refrain: "When Christ is in the vessel you can smile at the storm", much to the delight of worshippers.
Meanwhile, Dr. Phinn, who at the start of the year not only declared that Mrs. Simpson Miller was chosen by God to rule Jamaica, also said news will come shortly that Jamaica has oil.
In a prayer toward the end of the service he commanded Jamaica's land to give up her oil, gas and precious minerals.
Before that prayer, he and a group of other prophets asked God's blessings on Mrs. Simpson Miller, who he said has been attending the annual conference for the past eight years.
During the special prayer for the Prime Minister, Dr. Phinn mentioned that the date was April 8, a date which he said signifies "new beginnings".
He also prophesied that the Democratic Party will take the United States White House and that Hillary Clinton will be president.
The Gleaner, meanwhile, sought to find out what the Prime Minster thought of Dr. Phinn's prophetic pronouncements but was unsuccessful.
After Mrs. Simpson Miller left the conference, this reporter rushed to where her car was parked in order to get a comment as she was leaving.
However, despite her driver igniting the engine in anticipation of her arrival for departure, this reporter waited for more than an hour for a 'breakthrough' which never came.
