  • Murdered Youth Advocate Was Not A Cop

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is refuting claims that youth advocate Omar Bailey was a policeman.

Bailey’s bullet-riddled body was found in an open lot in Portmore, St. Catherine on Sunday.

President of the National Youth Council, Ryan Small, had identified Bailey as a School Resource Officer, a youth parliamentarian and President of the Jamaica Youth Crime Prevention Council.

He says he had always known Bailey to be a member of the force who was in possession of a JCF identification card.

But Director of Communications in the JCF, Karl Angell, says the deceased was not a member of the constabulary.

In fact, he says Bailey was charged twice for impersonating a policeman.

Angell says in order to be a School Resource Officer, one has to be a member of the police force.
