You can have all the ambition in the world...if you don't have the education to achieve it then it's called dreaming not ambition...I have no education but i demand to be treated more than just cheap labour? how that work?

I thought they were 6th formers. What, they should have gotten a PhD in 4th or 5th form?. they are in the secondary phase of their education, and seem to be on the right track.

What does the hotel industry hold for the common, black Jamaican man, beside low wage slave labour?. Look Brick, if all things were equal, many of the white, foreign and local managers at Sandals etc would be then ones pushing the brooms. Many of them, had they been in a society where merit and qualification matters, the most they would be is a hotel desk clerk. Jamaica is essentially a refuge for them.

What education the white people who run the hotels/tourism products in Jamaica have over and beyond Jamaicans?. You ever see any of them cleaning toilets?. You ever ask why they are not the ones cleaning the toilets?. I have asked that question before and will continue to.

I know. Cetainly never got it by aspiring for a HEART certificate and working my way up from a $50.00 a week job in Stewart's kitchen.

The Sous Chefs didn't go to culinary school? The GMs didn't go to Hospitality Management school? What they have over and beyond Jamaicans is international experience in the hotel industry...what is with the local mentality of I have a degree so I am entitled to a big job... a degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on if you have no practical experience...

That is exactly the point. They are speaking for themselves not for the average secondary school student leaving school in JA.

Nothing particularly wrong with their attitude about the tourist industry in my view but it should be put in context. They have options, most don't.
