Give Thanks

We need to give thanks for Usain Bolt and the plethora of sprint and hurdles stars (and long jumper James Beckford) that for some reason we have been blessed with since the late 1940s.

We need to give thanks as well to Dennis Johnson, Stephen “Franno” Francis and Glen Mills.

We also need to give sports visionaries Norman Washington Manley and his rebellious son Michael Manley (National Stadium, GC Foster College, Sports Foundation, etc.) much respect and much thanks.

I am 100-percent certain that I have NOT left out anyone in this “Branding”…..Uh oh, yes I did…. I almost forgot about the genuinely visionary poor people in places like Portland who revived the old Buccaneer practice of jerking meat and so gave us our world famous jerk chicken and jerk pork. Also Grace Kennedy Ltd. and Walkerswood Caribbean Foods.

I guess I’ve said it all in a couple of concise paragraphs. Damn, I almost typed the words “Reggae Boyz”! Thankfully, I’m not drunk right now, so….
