    NDM Calls Amnesty Extortion Racket

    Published: Wednesday January 2, 2013 | 9:00 am5 Comments

Hundreds in line at the tax office in Montego Bay - Janet Silvera Photo.
The National Democratic Movement (NDM) has described the traffic ticket amnesty as an extortion racket.

The NDM's comments come amid complaints from several motorists that the traffic ticket database incorrectly indicates that they have not paid their fines.

Many people have gone ahead to pay their fines again under the ticket amnesty.

    Can't argue with that!

When you know the system is so flawed yet you go ahead with the amnesty and then threaten people with prosecution and jail time if they are not able to get the already paid tickets off their names by the start of the new year, then how is it different from some weed-head in Spanish Town extorting money from a mom-pop store?!?

    Lose offa yuh Hero Peter!

Oh, sorry! Wrong Peter! Wrong Hero!
