    Sex for dollar$

THE harsh economic climate has been cited as one of the factors driving an increase in Jamaican youths exchanging sex for money, according to the 2012 HIV/AIDS Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behaviour Survey (KABS).
Transactional sex — one of the riskiest forms of sexual encounters involving the exchange of gifts or money for sexual intimacy — was cited in the report as being especially high among young Jamaican men and women between 15 and 24 years old, who are in both live-in and non-cohabiting relationships.

Casual sexual relationships among youths was seen to also be on the increase, with 52 per cent of those surveyed being in casual relationships, as opposed to 44 per cent in 2008.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

There is no correlation between Ganja usage and violence(except regarding funding the arsenal of drug dealers spurned by it being illegal).
Alcohol is the chief culprit regarding deaths/violence relating to being under the influence....
Cancer patients should have the right to smoke weed as opposed to taking those almost coma inducing, highly potent pills that render the patient unable to have a say in his or her treatment, robbing too the family of having final moments with a lucid love one.

X, you hit on a truth and a problem, although you obviously don’t realize it! Smoking weed increases the need to grind in creative and unusual ways (there is sometimes a limit to what some girlfriends will do), hence they’ll (that is, guys) pay for sex to satisfy the ganja-induced craving.

That weed; Lord help us all.

So the solution is to criminalise ? you dont think allieviating the unemployment rate will help ? as in India & amersterdam incidentally their teenage pregnancies and prostitution rates is probably lower than ours , even though its basically legal in amersterdam?

let me guess the weed is stopping the youth from seeking employment in JA ?

I got it ? what you smoking and dont tell me its weed , that kind of logic is the symptom of some hard stuff ?Keep hiding behind the weed to excuse our MPs from doing nothing about our social ills, blame the weed for every negative social aspect of Ja, but thats the problem it only applies for a third world nation like JA!

Jamaicans are the only nation on earth with specialise genes where weed increases teenage preganacies, prostitution and laziness, so the indians ,people in Uraguay, Amersterdam, Colorado has superior genes to deal wit their social issues ?

Ban weed and not the many other things purchased with the gains of the illicit sex trade.Ban new hair style, ban baby formulas, ban brand new dress fi de big dance next month.
It is another unfair attack on weed.

Ban weed and wi still ave di problem , obviously its the best scapegoat for our social ills, it doesnt have a voice to fight back , except for the disdained rastas and they are another problem because they believe in a religon that questions the masters /powers authority.

Ganja scapegoat of Jamaica social ills, poverty, madness to sexuality...lol..and dem say dem(masters) sane...lol.

I used India as the classic example, a progressive developing industrail antion part of the Brics where ganja is consumed like no other nation, not even Jamaica, part of their religous custom to social customs, and look at them.

Every propogated lie is out the window, madness ,laziness, etc etc .

Akin to saying weed is a gateway 'drug',as if if weed was removed from the equation people would not find themselves on coke etc.
Further more,I would bet most people that smoked weed first started smoking cigarettes.
Some heroin users become addicted to it because there was a problem with availability of their choice of drugs(crack, acid etc) at that moment.I really do not think that someone would try crack because they did not have access to a joint.Just as important, someone that is drunk or high off one of those... may make atypical decisions such as trying something new, people nah try nutting new cause dem under a BIG head.
If one is finding it hard to defend their position then maybe one should rethink that position.

True like I said India will destroy every myth about ganja, for the 1000s of years that it has been a part of their culture , it has never been documented to be addictive, causing mental illness ,any sexual negativity, laziness etc etc ...The indians curse opium and other hard drugs though?

A Bric nation! .....ask the indians bout Bhang !...its a form of ganja tea or milk shake depends on how its prepared.Incidentally the British did ban it in the 1930s and look how long the empire lasted after that ...lol

Bhang has become an integral part of tradition and custom in the Indian subcontinent. It has become symbolic for many things as it is associated with Lord Shiva.
In some sections of rural India, people believe in the medicinal properties of the cannabis plant. If taken in proper quantity, bhang is believed to cure fever, dysentery and sunstroke, to clear phlegm, aide digestion, appetite, cure speech imperfections and lisping, and give alertness to the body.[4] Bhang lassi is a preparation of powdered green inflorescence with curd and whey put in a village blender (a hand blending operation is carried out till the butter rises). It is regarded as tasty and greatly refreshing, with one or two large glasses having little effect. Bhang goli, on the other hand, hits after approximately two hours, sending one into a dreamlike state.
The tradition of consuming bhang during Holi is particularly common in North India where Holi itself is celebrated with a fervor unseen elsewhere. Bhang is heavily consumed in Mathura, an ancient town of religious importance to the Hindus. Here the practice is believed to have been introduced by the followers of Lord Krishna and has stayed ever since. They begin the preparation by Sanskrit chants and recitation of prayers to Lord Shiva. Some people from Mathura take Bhang to work up their appetite while others do it to relieve themselves of stress. But the hub of bhang use is Varanasi or Banaras, the Land of Shiva, where the bhang is prepared on its famous ghats.
                    [edit]Legality

As Bhang has served such an important role in India's culture and spiritual practices it would be impossible to criminalize cannabis completely in the country. Cultivation of cannabis is government regulated, and illegal without a government permit. Sale of bhang is also government regulated and illegal without a permit.
Bhang is illegal in any country where cannabis is prohibited as it is an integral part of the recipe.
