  • Anonymous continues to punish Westboro Baptist Church

Anonymous punishes Westboro Baptist Church: website taken down; twitter and email hacked. In an unrelenting attack, Anonymous continues to punish the Westboro Baptist Church for threatening to picket the funerals of those lost in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
In response to an initial threat made by the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) to harass the mourners in Newtown, Anonymous provided the full names, emails, addresses, phone numbers and even social security numbers of the Phelps family and most members of the WBC.
Despite the punishment from Anonymous, on Monday, Dec. 17, WBC issued an obnoxious press release announcing they would picket the funeral of Sandy Hook Elementary School Principal Dawn Hochsprung. The following is an excerpt from that announcement:

Anonymous - Message to the Westboro Baptist Church Anonymous - Message to the Westboro Baptist Church

    GOD SENT THE SHOOTER!
WBC TO PICKET THE FUNERAL OF
    SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
    PRINCIPAL DAWN HOCHSPRUNG,
AT WOODBURY FUNERAL HOME, 2 SCHOOL
    STREET, WOODBURY, CT, DEC. 19, 2:15 - 3PM
On Monday, Anonymous executed a successful distributed denial of service attack (DDOS) on the WBC website GodHatesFags.com, making the website temporarily inaccessible.
Also on Monday, hacktivists associated with the international collective known as Anonymous hacked into and gained control of the Twitter account belonging to Shirley Phelps, the de facto spokesperson for the group. The account, DearShirley, has since been deactivated.
In addition, today, Tuesday, Anonymous hacktivists report they are in control of Phelps’ email account. More information about the hack of Phelps’ email account and a screen capture of an account statement in Phelps’ name from Cox Communications can be seen at Cyber War News.
A statement denouncing the WBC, and threatening to make the hate group obsolete, has been issued by Anonymous Kentucky. The following is an excerpt from that statement:
We have seen your depraved methods of disseminating your message of hate throughout The United States of America. We have witnessed you defaming the memories of those who sacrificed themselves for the security of our nation, disrupting the peace of the educational environment within high schools and universities, breeding hatred within the fragile minds of your own next of kin...
We will not allow you to corrupt the minds of America with your seeds of hatred... We will render you obsolete. We will destroy you. We are coming.
    We are Anonymous.
    We are Legion.
    We do not Forgive.
    We do not Forget.
    Expect us.
