Jamaican company launches own brand of Tablet Computers
A Jamaican owned company has launched its version of the tablet computer called the "Smart Tab".
According to Irie FM News the "Smart Tab" is aimed at giving consumers an alternative to more expensive brands such as the Apple iPad and other tablet computers currently on the market, while not lessening the tablet experience. Lloyd Laing Vice-President of Research and Development stated that the "Smart Tab" has already been "picked up" by the University of the West Indies and at least one financial institution. A wide scale sale of the "Smart Tab" is expected to begin before the end of this month while the University of the West Indies has begun selling the tablet.
