Not certain of the population, but its the same way other islands don't want the Haitians to come in. At least we get the last lick, we'll be requiring people from the BVI to have visas to come to JAmaica. Land of poppy shows.

We all know why, but U also need to put things in perspective. These islands may be taking very short term views or lazy approaches.

Remember, they need Jamaica too and punishing all Jamaicans for the sake of the errant minority may not be the way to go. At least in the case of the BVI, they will probably accept the UK visa and no require a dedicated visa as is the case for the Cayman Islands.

I hope you realize that the very people who the BVI depend on to prosecute crimes there are Jakans. Some of them you even KNOW without realizing it. LoL

To my mind, to solve the problems, it may well be better to partner with Jam, than trying to go the bureaucratic route. Who can spot a potential criminanal better than an off duty or retired cop as a consultant at the airport, for example. I wager that on-site screening is better than visa applications that can be buttered up.

Final point, I am sure you agree that Jamaica MUST get its act in gear soon to avert calamity. How will these islands deal with a resurgent Jamaica? Will Jakans take kindly to overtures from then at that point? At least Caricom always treated us with a minimum of respect.

Willi, you may be right, but ... what is to prevent them from switching to "needing" Trinis or Barbadians?

All I know is that we in a freefall and all we doing is following Karl and Jawge chanting "Jamaica No Problem!"
