  • A special on AIDS!

Last evening on ABC there was a special on HIV / AIDS and how much its affecting the black community. People ... its rampant. It is killing off a high percentage of the black women when compared to other races.

They went through some of the factors that contribute to this.

Some include the prisoners who have sex with men and as soon as dem drop a road dem get involved with women. Homosexuality in prisons is ignored and taking an AIDS test isn't mandatory therefore they are released into the free world on the women, not knowing if they're infected.

The man dem pon the so called DL. Nuff said. Peter Jennings interviewed 2 men that admitted that their wives caught the disease because of them and dem DL behavior.

Another factor is that in very poor communities, most of the men move away to find jobs, and those left behind ... that earn more than minimum wage is hot commodity. One woman was interviewed that got caught like this. It sad.

The last factor I don't agree with. It was pointed out that the leaders in the black community don't talk about it .. preach about it .. which may be true, but what about people taking responsibility for themselves? Dem nuh hear the news? Dem nuh watch TV? Dem nuh read?

    RE: A special on AIDS!

More black men in prison than in college, andsome of these men are buggering each other. When dem release, nuff a dem infecting their female partners.

Was watching the Sopranos the other day, and it was inferred that men who are locked up for many years, that their buggering is accepted, and they are not shunned when released from prison.

Black women need to start demanding many of their ex-con partners to be tested for HIV.

<DIV>Would like to know what HL feels about America's habit of locking up black men every chance they get.</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>On the other hand, it would be interesting to know how many Jamaicans are in prison and how many in tertiary institutions. I am sure it would alarm all of us!</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>Meanwhile, Barack Obama, on a visit to his ancestral home of Kenya, will take a public HIV test to counter stigma.</DIV>
