KINGSTON, Jamaica - Attempts by the police to break up a scuffle between two women along Beeston Street, downtown Kingston today triggered an angry reaction from a group of onlookers.
Reports are that at about 11:30 the women were at the corner of Church and Beeston streets where cops were carrying out a stop and search operation.
"An argument developed between the two women who started to fight just metres away from where the two police men were carrying out their search," said a woman who claimed to be an eyewitness to the catfight.
The women were held by the policemen who claimed they were forced to use pepper spray to bring them under control.
This action however triggered angry response from curious onlookers who objected to the use of the spray on the women.
"One of the girls has asthma them cannot use them something on the girl," said one woman, as the police drove away with the two screaming women.
