I agree with you on that.

There is a section of the Republican party that recognizes it but they will have to regain control of their candidate selection process from the Tea Party. They will lose 2-3 Senate seats because of Tea Party extremist candidates.

The real problems for the Reps is TEXAS.

When the demographic weight shifts to the Latinos, poof! the 38 college votes gone and it will soon happen.

They have to rebalance themselves intermede if they hope to prosper in the future. They need more Colin Powells and less Sunnunus (sp?)

They will rebalance, they must to survive.

Latinos are the opportunity for them. They tend to be socially conservative to an extent...Catholic, anti abortion, anti gay marriage etc.

Karl Rove, Rick Perry and Jeb Bush all come from Texas and as conservative as they are they KNOW what o'clock a strike when it come to immigration and other Latino interests.

The party as a whole still living in the past though. They have to get the racists to take a back seat again or nothing else they do will matter.

          Agreed.

Isolate the wingnuts. The Dems have done a good job with theirs so far...

This 325 prediction is only possible if Obama wins all of Ohio and Florida plus Virginia, Wisconsin and Colorado. I doubt that will happen. I think it is more likely that he will win with about 290 - 303, but he will win. It is hard for an incumbent to lose absent some disruptive or unforgiveable event...e.g. Ford pardoning Nixon or Carter botching the Iran hostage crisis. Hurricane Sandy could have been disruptive if it had a) hit earlier and b) turned into Obama's Katrina.
