Old fire, new flame
1. The divorced couple has been quite chummy lately and now there are reports that Cupid is busy working his magic amid all the excitement in the Olympic Village in London. A case of old fire stick they say. Bricky is who dem talking bout
Flowers now the target
2. Efforts to nab praedial thieves usually focus on theft of livestock and produce, but there is another area that needs urgent attention and that is the theft of flowers and growing plants. It seems a whole new industry has been created by these thieves who continue to reap where they do not sow. The police should turn the microscope on some of these plant outlets that have suddenly sprung up around the Corporate Area.
Where's the 50 unity?
3. Many people are still hoping that the Jamaica 50th will be a spectacular affair. However, endorsing a few ideas which were produced by assorted individuals will not a celebration make. Talks about unity are hollow, if the agency charged with organising the celebration decided to discard all the ideas that were developed by the former administration. Why couldn't both the former and current administration work together to the glory of the nation? United we stand, divided we fall.
Champs training debate
4. Some people are citing conflict of interest in the training programme of some of our athletes. A debate has started about how best can a coach serve two athletes who are in competition. The question is being asked: What strategies would the coach employ to ensure that Athlete A beats Athlete B? And in that case what will be the strategies for Athlete B? Something to ponder.
