Twilight - 91-year-old takes 81-year-old bride after dramatic courtship

Two fall for each other at Jazz and Blues Festival, marry six months later

Celine Dion has no clue what she's caused. A gentlemanly act of kindness on a night when the Canadian diva belted out love song after love song at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in January has resulted in two lovely souls finding love again in the autumn of their lives.
A few weeks before the festival, 81-year-old Joyce Lewars' only New Year's resolution was to simply enjoy the opportunity of being alive to see another year and to celebrate this with family and friends by her side. Part of that plan was to go and see Celine Dion in concert on January 27 this year at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.
Some might say it was destined to be but it seems that by pure chance, a life-changing experience was in store for her that evening.
As Joyce alighted from the car that took her and others to the concert, a hand reached out and gently assisted her.
The show of kindness by 91-year-old Guy Willis, who was visiting from England and who was also a passenger in the car, touched more than just a hand. It apparently touched a heart and planted a seed.
Love grew
And after listening to Celine deliver from her repertoire of beautiful songs such as Because You Loved Me, My Heart Will Go On,The Power of Love, All By Myself, among others, it appeared that the seed of love grew and engulfed both Joyce and Guy.
Later on, when Guy was about to return to England, he told Joyce he would come back and marry her. And one week after he left Jamaica, Guy called Joyce and proposed over the phone.
"Yes!"
Swept off her feet like a teenager in love and with butterflies in her stomach, Joyce couldn't resist. But she wondered now, how to break the news to her children. It was easy.
Her youngest child, who resides in Jamaica, was the first to know. The news was then communicated to the other children living in England who later visited Guy to meet the new love in their mother's life. Approval granted!
Six months later, in July 2012 after selling his possessions in England, Guy returned to Jamaica with his son and daughter-in-law to marry Joyce.
Joyce, escorted down the aisle by her youngest son, Cary, beamed with delight as she said, "I do" to Guy and the two became man and wife, Mr and Mrs Willis.
And while their respective ages might suggest a golden autumn, the wedding, which took place at the luxurious Couples Sans Souci Resort, in St Ann, seems to signal that it's spring again for the wonderful twosome.
