  • Why we squander money suh?

Moderators, don't move mi post as this is not a cricket post.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the fixtures to see all the matches we'd be hosting. To my amazement all the matches are being played at Sabina Park. Suh why was the new stadium built in Trelawny? Over 2 billion @3% over 30 years for a stadium, just tohost the opening ceremony? What a brilliant idea? A suh we have money fi squander?

Unless I'm using the wrong site.

I do not think the government had anything to do with the allocation of the games. They built the other stadium and gave the ICC to options of venues in Jamaica. The ICC chose to use Sabina to play the games and the new stadium would be used for the opening ceremony as well as a number of practice games.

Moreover Lazie, the country needed another stadium. Imagine the generations of us who grew up with only the national Stadium in Kingston as a sporting venue worthy of playing international competitions. The Trelawny stadium is a welcome addition to our sporting facilities. It is a pity it did not come sooner.

Need another stadium for what Tilla? There are more important things that could have been done with that money.

I'm curious, how many other islands built a stadium for this event and its not being used? Since all the games were to be held at Sabina Park, the opening ceremony could have been held there too. And to think the Opposition is silent on this?
