      Well the name will remain for a lonnng time...unless it is renamed. Actually, there is an attempt to stay away from personal names (most times the researcher) for scientific nomenclature....there's a guy named Herbert Axelrod who went to South America (Brasil mostly) and named almost all the fish after himself [Genus} Axelrodi. A lot of them were renamed.
