The Michael Peart led Privileges Committee had decided to call Mr. Samuda before it to determine if he was prepared to change his stance.
At last month's meeting, Government members had signalled that they were prepared to let Mr. Samuda off the hook.
That is if they were prepared to concede that a report of the <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue! important; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; POSITION: relative">Sandals</SPAN> Whitehouse project which was prepared by Mr. Hylton was not turned over to former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson.
But Wednesday, Mr. Samuda came in a militant mood and signalled that he was prepared to be booted from the parliament rather than apologise.
“Mr. Chairman I will therefore neither apologise for carrying out my constitutional responsibilities to the people of this country nor will I be intimidated in any way by the threats of either <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue! important; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; POSITION: relative">suspension</SPAN> or expulsion from the House of Parliament where I spent the last 27 years,” said Mr. Samuda.
