<Young developers snatch top prize at Digital Jam 2.0 hackathon
Wayne Jones, Ricardo Mc-Pherson and Oratio West topped Jamaica's first ever Digital Jam 2.0 24-hour Sports Hackathon competition, which was held from June 28-29 as part of a larger marketplace and job fair at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
Operating under the name Team Hybrid, the trio impressed a live panel of judges and audience members with their creation and presentation of SKORA, a sports data-management and -collection platform.
The Digital Jam 2.0 programme of activities was a collaborative effort between the Government of Jamaica, the World Bank, local private-sector companies and other international developmental and tech-based partners, in a creative response to the growing challenges of youth unemployment in Jamaica.>
