A female teacher from a prominent central Jamaica high school has been dismissed after she was caught having sex with a male student in a classroom last Thursday.
THE STAR has learnt that the young and attractive teacher who is said to be in her late 20s, and who has been teaching at the school for more than two years, found herself in trouble with the institution's administration, the board of management and the parent-teacher association, after she was caught with the fourth-form student in a classroom.
Reports are that the two were seen making passionate love by another teacher after school was dismissed for the day. The teacher who caught her colleague and young lover in the sexual act, is said to have had a class in the room earlier and went back to collect something she had mistakenly left behind.
It is understood that the teacher was shocked by what she saw upon entering the room and decided not to keep it a secret, so the school's administration was informed about the sexual ordeal.
removes herself
A source at the school told THE STAR; "The head of administration called in the 'sex machines' in a meeting and ordered that the educator removes herself from the teaching staff with immediate effect; and the student find another institution."
THE STAR understands that for more than a year now word had been making the rounds that the teacher and the student were involved. However, it is said that the teacher, who also has a daughter at the school, denied that she was having an affair with the teen when approached by the school's administration.
It is further alleged however, that despite the boy also denying the claims he was spotted by other students going to the teacher's residence several nights.
Since the incident at the school, community members have been expressing their disgust.
"Persons have been voicing their concern about the worrying situation, because as parents we send our children to school for them to be moulded and to benefit from those who we believe can assist them in the acquisition of a good education. Instead, what is happening is teachers like her are exposing them to adult life before time," said a concerned parent.
Several attempts by THE STAR to speak with the school's administration yesterday proved futile.
