Your view is quite myopic and one sided.
To claim that Jamaica has "begun a journey to failure" reflects a complete misreading of history. The fact is that Jamaica has NEVER been a successful society from the era of slavery through colonialism to the relatively brief period of "independence". This is so although many like to recall the "charms" of the colonial period when most were uneducated serfs.
That being the case Jamaica has ALWAYS been on a course to failure save some brief moments of national unity around an agreed course.
Notwithstanding the tremendous rot in many areas of Jamaican life there are also many achievements to celebrate and Jamaica has every right or one could say a responsibility to recognize these achievements.
Nothing is wrong with criticism...what is wrong is constant carping about the many negatives without lifting a proverbial finger to contribute in some way to make things better.
