We should plan on getting schools a few Kinect controllers.... challenge them to do their own independent projects using the 3D environment mapping... could be part of the competition in the near future

Nice! Yes that would be good if we could get some in their hands.

Interestingly the Roomba vacum people had a similar experience to Microsoft, hackers were buying the Roobma and pulling out the cleaner parts to use as a cheap robotic platform. So they decided to release a kit called iRobot Create which is basically the Roomba minus the cleaner parts.
Apparently there is a way to interface it with Labview as well.

A nice game scenario for the UTech IEEE group to build would be a Maze with obstacles to be avoided.... targeting a Ball placed somewhere... robot to pick up the ball then deposit in a raised receptacle at the end of the course

Scoring based on completion time and obstacle avoidance penalty or credit

That functionality would be superior to any US FIRST FTC game

I can see the spin off effects down the line when we have dry dock, Chiney port, light manufacturing, green energy plants, automated logistics systems, automated warehousing in Riverton, multi-modal infrastucture, L N Gas infrastructure, cutting edge IT facilities, etc....

Sista P, all this can be your legacy if you step up and lead. Yuh need fi squash the fish head brigade and have the OPM push dem things here.

OPM must handhold big investments and big Devt projects. Dem must also engage TRAINING assistance from Babylon, who will want a piece of the pie when we smarten up and start to grow it. There is no reason why we cant have a relative boom even when the rest of the world sucking salt outta wooden spoon. The pendulum is shifting our way and we hae to do is hitch a ride. Just a little early effort goes a long way.
