suspends all flights
Low cost airline Redjet says it will cease all flights from tonight.
The Barbados based airline says it will stop flying from midnight until further notice.
The airline did not give any explanation for the suspension of the flights or say how long flights would be grounded.
However, in a release a short while ago it complained about the heavy subsidies given to its rival, Caribbean Airlines and Liat. Redjet says it is hopeful that it too will be given state support to continue flying.
Redjet says affected passengers will be offered refunds or the option to travel with Redjet upon commencement of services.
Efforts to reach Redjet CEO Ian Burns for a comment were unsuccessful.
On Monday, Redjet said it would start a Barbados to Antigua route in June.
The airline currently flies to eight destinations in the region.
the suspension comes months after Redjet cut flights.
