A 27-year-old woman who has been accused of chopping her 56-year-old father in his head because he has been calling her an insect, among other demeaning names, was granted $40,000 bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
She is Trichella Smith who is involved in a cross case with her father Rupert Smith.
Triehella has been charged with wounding with intent and her father has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm
Rupert was also offered $40,000 bail and both are to return to court on March 30, when the matter will be mentioned.
It is reported that the father and his daughter are living on the same premises in Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, but have been in a long-standing dispute for sometime now.
The court was also informed that Trichella has several other cases before the court and she has wounded her father in the past.
It is reported that on the day of the incident, both parties got into an altercation where it is alleged that Trichella used a machete to inflict wounds on her father's head and other sections of his body.
Meanwhile, Trichella who claims that her father has assaulted her, expressed to the court that her father is a troublemaker who is bent on calling her demeaning names.
"Your Honour, he threw my kids stuff in di garbage and I cannot walk in peace,"Trichella said.
"Your are an insect," Rupert then replied in court.
