  • PM Portia Simpson-Miller is calling on the Police Commission

PM Portia Simpson-Miller is calling on the Police Commissioner to investigate comments made by opposition leader Andrew Holness, that the Gov't has contributed to the recent upsurge in crime in Jamaica. PM Simpson-Miller was speaking at yesterday's PNP symposium to commemorate the sixth anniversary of her tenure as party president held at Jamaica College. Mrs. Simpson-Miller stated that the difference between her party and the JLP showed that when they were in power, they stood up and spoke up for all the people of Jamaica and did not give bad signals to the International Community, she also expressed her shock at Holness's comments: "I feel that the Commissioner of Police should have gone to meet with him, to ask him to indicate and to give him names of those in the Government turning up the crime." said PM Simpson-Miller; The JLP leader made his comments while a addressing a G2K forum held on Friday, February 17, at the University of Technology where he focused on the Governement's efforts on crime, "The PNP Promised to tun up the thing and already we seeing a spike in crime."
