A family is mourning the loss of their beloved relative after he died in hospital on Sunday from injuries he sustained inside a mechanical concrete <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 700; COLOR: orange! important; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; POSITION: relative">mixer</SPAN> at Newport West in Kingston.

Dead is Richard McKenzie, a 27-year-old construction worker of Majesty Gardens, Kingston 11.

This is an accident that should never have happened. Sounds like there are insufficient safety controls in place. Is there no form of COMMUNICATION!! Who switch on the mixer - shouldn't it have been disconnected!!

<DIV>The police have ruled it an accident. But was it?</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>I can't even begin to state how many things could have gone wrong with such an incident. It could have been the man's own negligence as well as it could have been the lack ofa safety procedure when it comes to cleaning the mixer.</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>I just hope if anyone is responsible for his death that person (company)is made to take responsibility.</DIV>
