Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has told members of the diplomatic and consular corps that Jamaica is carefully watching the Eurozone crisis.
She said Jamaica has a vital stake in a strong and stable Europe that will drive productivity and job creation far beyond its borders.
The Prime Minister was addressing diplomats today, as part of Diplomatic Week 2012 activities at Jamaica House.
Noting that Jamaica continues to suffer the effects of the global financial meltdown, the prime minister said the country needs real solutions and tangible opportunities for personal development and advancement.
Simpson Miller said her government will among other things pursue a realistic and sustainable job creation strategy.
She said the country looks forward to the continued support of the international community.
