The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) has moved to clarify the margin of victory by outgoing Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, in the St. Andrew West central constituency.
Yesterday, the EOJ sent out information suggesting Holness only enjoyed a 139 vote margin of victory after the official county.
However, the EOJ later said the results sheet had transcription errors and resent a corrected press release.
The EOJ said the official count has Holness winning by a margin of 1,039 votes and not 139.
It said Holness received 7,799 votes, while the People’s National Party’s Patrick Roberts received 6,760.
