    <P class=StoryText align=justify>Internationally acclaimed Jamaican saxophonist, Cedric 'Im' Brooks, will headline the Jamaica Pegasus' Jazz In The Gardens concert on Sunday, February 25, 2007. He will be joined by songstress Elan Edwards, Damon Riley and the ever-popular Harold Davis &amp; Friends.<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 width=140 align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD><SPAN class=Description>Saxophonist Cedric 'Im' Brooks </SPAN></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><P class=StoryText align=justify>Brooks was a principal figure on early Jamaican classic songs like Count Ossie's So Long Rastafari Calling, Satta Massa Gana and Horace Andy's Skylarking. He has also appeared on songs by reggae luminaries like Bob Marley, Culture and Toots &amp; The Maytals.<P class=StoryText align=justify>A pupil at the Alpha Boys School, Brooks was an original who defined new styles as Jamaica's music progressed from ska and rocksteady to reggae. As the Hon Rex Nettleford, OM once said: "He is a seminal contributor to the development of Jamaican arts and culture, particularly in the field of music." Today we have the opportunity to speak to this music legend to get to know more about the man and his music.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Cedric 'Im' Brooks got his musical start at the Alpha Boys School, and is one of the founding members of the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari. His three-volume album, Groundation with the Mystic Revelations had an enormous musical impact internationally.<P class=StoryText align=justify>In the 1970s the Light Of Saba and United Africa albums continued his fusion of jazz, ska and reggae creating a musical style only 'Im' can deliver. His recent re-release of Light Of Saba continues to receive rave reviews internationally. During the 1980s, Brooks taught at the Jamaica School of Music and since then has taught and performed in Europe and the United States.<P class=StoryText align=justify>For the past few years, Brooks toured internationally with the world-famous Skatalites band. He recently 'retired' from the Skatalites to form yet another band - Cedric Brooks Im Rhythm band.<P class=StoryText align=justify>
