Bartlet could be in trouble afterall

News are that some boxes came to the counting centre with no seal as the presiding officers ran out of seals plus those boxes were NOT properly escorted.

If those boxes are thrown out, Bartlet will lose.

I think that would be harsh given that people who cast legitimate votes in those boxes would lose their franchise because of carelessness.

They could ask for a new election but that would cost about $20million, the standard rate to run an election in one seat.

I say follow the rules in place. No one owns any boxes. Yes, they may come from a particular area but so what? If those boxes have to be thrown out, too bad! No proof it will hurt a particular candidate.

Not necessarily, if you see the break down in boxes, the politically savvy and those who know the constituency can tell you where they lost or picked up votes.

These boxes are from an area called Buckingham which is interior near Maroon Town.

The party machinery know they areas where they are strong and where they are weak.

Was talking to DK's manager last nigh and he said they did not even go to certain areas where they known the JLP was strong, they did not have the time so they chose the areas where they had lots of votes and lots of uncommitted PNP they needed to get out.

DK won in 2007 by 10 votes after a lot of votes that were badly torn by the election workers were thrown out and many from the pro-JLP areas.

Sickko, as far as the EOJ is concerned, those are just boxes! No way can there be any consideration as to which candidate will be impacted if boxes are considered invalid. They must be dealt with strictly according to the rules.
